On the Horizon is a quarter of Counting Down. It's essentially the first half of Act I. It's an opportunity to explore. Meet the characters, hear the sonics, see if you jam with this dead-dad-robot-musical-sound scape. Let's walk ya through the songs.

Stages
Inside the charred remains of a nuclear power plant, Harriett the Speaker, a powerful civic robot activates the black box. It's code in a literal black box. She merges with it and begins showing us what she sees. We're at a funeral. Replaying events. Something very bad has happened. More than once in this very space... What led to this moment? Where are we going? Trust Harriett and her team to lead us. But our robotic narrator, Prince Horizon has some qualms about this approach....

Lost Horizons
Our robotic narrator Prince Horizon tells the story of the world's first sentient robot: Northstar Horizon. Prince himself never made such claims. He served as her teacher and mentor, describing their time together working in the Northstar Nuclear Power plant. Her work, her longing, and her tragic fate. Might there be a lesson for our earnest team of main character bots?

Harriett
Harriett the Speaker in all her glory. Champion of the people. Powerful. Wise. Noble. True....She hears and answers the call of the people.
But how does this quietly sensitive, loyal, yearning leader navigate impossible political and social odds? How can she transcend her programming? How can she honor the voice she hears inside?
She wants to find a way to free her people, and humanity too.

Dr. Claire - charming, fun, mischievous intellectual marvel and chief scientific officer in a future United States, describes the first time she knew she was really alive.

Close partners, Sam and Jones struggle to talk about big feelings.

You gotta have comic relief in a musical right? Hear Sam describe the day he met Jones. The truth of the matter is he has a checkered backstory, but why not put a little sauce on it?!

Alarm
Harriett crosses the rubicon. She calls her friends and asks them to join her in Ocean City, in preparation for a hearing on robotic sentience.

Divide
Our narrator has other plans. As Harriett moves to publicly acknowledge the reality of robotic sentience, Prince (calling himself Tyrant now) reveals something else lurking in the core. It's not just about power. It's about what he can change when he links particle physics with nuclear energy.
It's time....to change....reality.
